Scrapping Wonders September Blog Hop

Welcome to the September Blog Hop for Scrapping Wonders! I am so excited to share a little bit more about me as well as a super fun project using my traveler's notebook inserts and some amazing stickers from Columbus Road Prints. The stickers over there are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

I have decided to use this gorgeous insert from Scrapping Wonders as a way to record little moments and big memories as well as love letters to my daughter about my observations of her developing personality and dreams for the future. I have the same type of insert for each of my boys as well.

The Dear Lizzy Documentary collection paired perfectly with my stickers from Columbus Road Prints and perfectly matched the vibe of my photo. After that, it was just a matter of layering up patterned papers and stickers as well as tag and a doily to create some texture. Easy peasy!

I love how quickly spreads come together in my traveler's notebook inserts especially because it gives me even more of a chance to focus on the journaling and things that I want to say to my kids.

Here is the video talking more about my process and how this all came together...

Beth from Scrapping Wonders is giving away an AMAZING exclusive traveler's notebook insert that cannot be purchased in the store. The only way to get it is to enter to win! Each one of us is leaving you three statements. Two of them are truths and one is a lie. Check out my three statements below and decide which one you think is the lie.

1. I went on a vacation to Jamaica by myself for an entire week.
2. I have four college degrees and am working on a fifth right now.
3. I have a travel tattoo on my ankle and can't wait to get another one.

Leave a comment below with your guess and then you are on to the next blog in the hop to check out the amazing project that Felicia created. Thanks again for stopping by!

Sparklers September Blog Hop

Welcome to my dusty and long-lost blog! You will be happy to learn that, indeed, I did remember my password and how to create a blog post. It has been quite awhile but I see a resurgence in my future. I am making a huge effort to bring back some blogging and create a place where you can find all of my different social media links, design teams, and projects. I have LOADS of new projects in the works and you will find out about a lot of in upcoming months right here.

Without further ado, welcome to the SpiegelMom scraps September Blog Hop. You could have arrived here from Rachel's amazing project! I am playing around today with combining different collections since I have been dying to play with all the things. I decided to combine Pink Fresh Studios Boys Fort along with Escape the Ordinary and throw in a little Ali Edwards Details Story Kit for good measure.

From the SMS store, I am using three different sequin mixes that match these new collections perfectly.  I used: Black Tie Event (black sequins...always for the win) as well as Deck the Halls and the brand new Lisa's Starry Night which has so many amazing shades of blues that I need about fifty more packages!

This patterned paper just begged for stitching! I knew that I had to scatter some hand-stitching throughout the border element and I also carried it over onto the border strip across the bottom of the photo.

I used the 6x6 paper pad to create some cut-outs and layers on a few of the arrows as well which was a fun way to create a unique dimension.

I hope that you enjoyed my creation as well as the return of my blog. Do make sure that you stop by and check out the process video for this layout.

Next, you are off to see Christy and her fantastic layout as well. Make sure to leave comments for everyone so that you can be entered to win a prize!

Meet the Sparklers!!

Welcome to May 1st and the release of the new design team for SpiegelMom Scraps! You should have arrived here from Daisie's blog. I can't wait to get to work with her throughout this year!  I am SO excited to be returning to the design team and I adore the new sequin mixes SO much.

I wanted to create a layout for to share a little piece of myself. I am a traveler...I adore to wander, travel, explore, and journey. That piece of me is very much part of my very soul. Another thing about me is that I have a tendency to hoard away my favorite scrappy products for "just the right project." Well....today, I challenged myself to pull out some of my favorite Felicity Jane goodies which paired perfectly with the Crate Paper Oasis collection that I just bought. All of those new goodies coordinated perfectly with my SpiegelMom Scraps goodies.

Without further ado, here is my layout and the link to its process video. Please come on over and check out my channel...consider subscribing because there is a BUNCH of fun stuff coming up on International Scrapbooking Day!

From the store, I used:
  --Shimmerz Crushed Coral Texture
--Shimmerz Sea U in the Morning Dazzlerz
--Both 8inch and 4inch doilies (these are my FAVS!)
  --Gone with the Wind sequins
  --Just Beachin' It sequins
  --My Clementine sequins

AND....don't miss the process video!

Now, you are off to visit Sheryl's blog and learn a little more about her! I have a feeling this is going to be one amazing year for this super creative and inventive new SpiegelMom Scraps Design Team!

Scrap the Boys May Challenge

Welcome to a new month and another month of Scrap the Boys challenges! Today is a busy day on my blog as I have a couple of different design team projects going on to welcome in the month of May. Make sure to check my channel for a couple of different process videos that will be released today! There is even more fun coming on International Scrapbooking Day on the 6th so make sure to visit my channel then...

This month, the theme for Scrap the Boys is to create a layout for Mother's Day with boys. Having two boys, this was a super easy challenge for me. I also immediately knew what picture I wanted to use. At my kids' school, there is a huge Mother-Son Event once a year and a photo one of the other moms took for us is what I used for this layout. Here is what I created using mostly scraps!

I hope that you enjoy seeing my take on this theme and that you will check out the process video as well! Please consider subscribing as there are lots of things coming soon for NSD!!

You can find the video here.....

Make sure to stop by the Scrap the Boys Challenge blog to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to share your project with us as well!

Stick It Down April Challenge

Welcome to another month of Stick It Down sketch challenges. I really loved working with the minimalistic sketch this month and I really felt like it made a huge impact. Here is the sketch that we were given to work with. Isn't it fun and different?!?

I decided that this sketch would just be too perfect to highlight a major even in my son's life this spring. He is playing kid pitch baseball for the first time and is one of the youngest players on the team but has been chosen as part of the pitching rotation. He even won first place in his age group at a local pitching competition this spring!

This particular photo was his very first night pitching in a game and you could see that he was in heaven. He loves baseball and being anywhere on the field but his heart lives on the pitcher's mound.

As you can see, I stayed pretty true to the sketch and used some torn out notebook paper along with some stamping to create some interest around my photo. Puffy baseball stickers and a bold title were all it took to create a unique and impactful look. I can't wait to see what you create with this month's sketch. Make sure to check out the Stick It Down blog to see what everyone else comes up with and to share your take on this sketch with us as well. Happy Crafting!!

SMS April Blog Hop!!!

Happy April!! I hope you enjoyed Hannah's project as much as I loved it this month!  I almost had a huge April Fool's joke to play on everyone with no layout today. LOL! I am in the middle of moving and half of my room is at the old house and half is at the new house so that made for a little bit of an extra challenge but I'm happy with the project and I used up some old stash in the process.

Without further ado...I went with a grid layout this week. I play along with several friends on a You Tube collaboration and this week's challenge was 4-5 photos on a grid. Although I didn't quite make the video happen (which box is the tripod in again?!) I did create this fun layout with the challenge theme....

Here are a couple of close-ups as well....

As you can see, I played with the Felties from the SpiegelMom Scraps store a lot for this project. The cloud felties are by far my favorite but I just loved the pop of color and contrast that I got using the red heart felties as well.

Another tip....when you don't have a sequin mix that works perfectly, reach into your stash and create one! The sequin mixes are perfect to grab parts from and combine together to create something new. Here are the four different mixes that I pulled from on this layout...

I hope you enjoyed my project and that you will keep your fingers crossed me as I try to finish moving and set up a new crafty space! I can't wait to share my new space with everyone over on my channel. If you aren't yet a subscriber, what are you waiting for?!? Click here and go subscribe so you don't miss anything! Now...you are off to visit Sara's Blog and you are going to LOVE her project. Happy hopping and creating!!

SMS March Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to March! This month, we are teamed up with Creative Embellishments and I am having such a blast combining products from these two amazing small businesses. You are gonna love all of the inspiration heading your way this month! You should have arrived here from Heather's blog and I just know you loved her project as much as I did.

For this project, I worked with the new Paige Evan's Oh My Heart Collection and created a fun, bright, and colorful camping page. If you are new to my work,  you will quickly see that I LOVE hand stitching on my layouts and this one has a whole lot of it.

The compasses from Creative Embellishments were just the perfect accents for my layout idea! From the SpiegelMom Scraps store, I included:
--Cloudy Days Felties (my favorite felties!)
--Corky Cumulus (the amazing new super thin cork clouds)
--Star Light Star Bright (large silver stars)
--Stargazer (the medium sized shimmery stars)
     --Wedding Bells (the tiny stars)

Here are a few close-ups and I would also love it if you would check out the process video and subscribe to my channel!

And....here is the process video!

Next stop on the hop is taking you to Marci's blog. Make sure to leave a comment on each blog in the hop in order to be entered to win a great prize! Thanks so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Scrap the Boys March Challenge

Welcome to a new month and another month of Scrap the Boys challenges! Today is a busy day on my blog as I have a few different design team projects going on today. Make sure to check my channel for a few different process videos that will be released today!

This month, the theme for Scrap the Boys is to care a layout or project with the theme of DIRT. Having two boys, this was a super easy challenge for me. I also immediately knew what picture I wanted to use. This photo is one of my youngest son on a big camping trip that we took a couple of summers ago. His face looked at least this dirty for the majority of our time in the woods and he couldn't have been happier. Between playing in the dirt, building forts, fishing, and boating, he was one happy will guy.

For this layout, I combined elements from several different collections (both new and old) in order to create a unique look. I even used a few collections that are really intended as feminine collections. I also created a coordinating process video to go with this layout and you can view that below or on my You Channel by clicking here.

And here is the video as well....

I really hope that you will play along with our challenge this month! Make sure to check out the Scrap the Boys blog to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to leave us a link to check out your project for our theme this month. Happy Crafting!!

Stick it Down February Challenge

Happy Monday!
It is time for another Stick It Down Sketch Challenge and the sketch for February is a really fun one. There are so many different options of what you could create with this layout. The design team also did an awesome job of creating a wide variety of projects so make sure you stop by and check out all of the layouts.

The sketch for February looks like:

I decided to work with hand stitching for this layout so I just traced and stitched circles of lots of different colors in the background for the main design element.

Playing with the Shimelle Go Now Go collection and layering up all sorts of 6x6 patterned papers and pieces of ephemera completed the look. I kept my embellishments subtle to really highlight the photo and stitching details. Adding the little cork hearts and the tiny navy sticker hearts from Studio Calico tied everything together and added a little fun. I hope that you enjoy seeing what I created. Make sure to stop by Stick It Down and check out the rest of the projects. Make sure to leave us a link to a project you create with this month's sketch. I can't wait to see your work! Happy Crafting!!

SMS February Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday and Happy February! January was not a particularly kind month in my world so I am excited for a new beginning and all of the possibility that February holds!

As a great start, today is the SpiegelMom Scraps blog hop! We are collaborating with Accent Scrapbooking this month which is an amazing flair badge company. We all decided to design with a common sketch and allow our own unique styles to come thru. I know that you had to have just loved Hannah's project!

Here is the sketch that we worked with for this hop....

I love the details and loads of layers! I decided to pull out some leftovers from the Paige Evans Fancy Free collection for my layout today. I started with a beautiful piece of patterned paper that was all florals and decided to fussy cut and hand stitch the flowers and leaves. This was a super fun look to create and worked perfectly for integrating the flair badges and sequins throughout. Here are a few close-ups of my project as well as the accompanying process video.

The really was a fun look to create as I love creating layers and texture elements. Hand-stitching is a great way to do just that!

Please make sure to check out the process video below and to subscribe to my channel!

Thanks again for joining us for the February Blog Hop! If you would like more details about the specific products and sequin mixes that I used, make sure to check out the video link! You are now headed off to Katty's blog and you are going to LOVE the florals and details that she has created as well. Happy Crafting!!!

Scrap the Boys Design Team and February Challenge

Good Morning! I am super excited to be starting work with the Scrap the Boys Design Team this month. I have loved watching and seeing all of their challenges over the past year and I am SO excited to be playing along now. This month, the challenge is to create a layout about something NEW. There are so many different ways to interpret this challenge which is part of the fun. I thought about creating something about new Christmas gifts or new goals for the year. I also could have created a layout about a new school year, playing a new sport, or new adventures whether big or small. I decided to create a layout about a small part of our travel adventures that we look forward to as a family...trying new restaurants and foods in new locations. You can see the layout I created below as well as watch the process video for more detailed information and my thought process.

I used two different boy product lines that I have been enjoying working with lately. One is from Crate Paper called Cool Kid and the other is from Bella Blvd. called Alex. Both collections coordinate really well together and allowed me to add in little elements from my older product stash which always makes me happy!

I hope that you enjoyed my take on this month's challenge and that you will visit the design team page to check out what the rest of the design team created. Please play along this month and share your work so that I can see what you are creating for the boys in your life as well. Happy Crafting!!

Use Your Stuff: Animal Challenge

Happy Monday!
Welcome to another challenge from the Use Your Stuff challenge blog. This week, we have been challenged to create a layout with some sort of animal theme. Whether you choose to scrap animal pictures, use cute animal ephemera, or include some kind of animal print is up to you! I do have a process video for this layout as well so make sure to stop by my channel and check that out too!!

I chose to work with this adorable photo of my youngest son who surprised me in the store one day with this tiger hat and mitts. He came up behind me and yelled "RRAAAWWWWRRRR" and it was just the cutest darn thing you have ever seen!

The minute that I saw this challenge, I knew this photo and story would be perfect! The Crate Paper Cool Kid collection still remains one of my favorites for documenting the stories of my boys and I am running low on goodies from it as I have created so many layouts with it already.

For this layout, I included a black and white background from Dear Lizzy's Saturday collection and added some hand stitching to make it my own and add some extra dimension.  I then added a lot of different details from the sticker sheet, 6x6 patterned paper pad, and some puffy stickers. I also used up a few old Studio Calico chipboard stars that have been in my stash forever. Anytime I get to use old things from my stash, I consider it a win win!!

Here's the process video for this layout as well...

Please stop by and check out the process video where I show you how it all came together! I would love if you watch, like, comment, and subscribe so that I can keep bringing you lots of free content! Please also make sure to check out the Use Your Stuff blog to see what the rest of the design team created and to leave us a link to your own project for this challenge. Happy Crafting!!
