Inquiring Minds

Here is my first layout created with Meg Designs printables and digital files as part of the Meg Designs Design Team. I am a traditional scrapbooker and the digital elements worked amazingly well to print and create my signature layers. I hope you enjoy! C.R.A.F.T. Challenge DT Call

The ladies over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge are having a design team call right now and part of the challenge was to create a blog post to showcase some of our favorite work. I am primarily a scrapbooker at heart although I dabble in party decor projects and card making sometimes as well. I would love to be on this design team as a way to bring a different and unique perspective to the team which includes many card makers. I love to learn new techniques and also inspire others to create!

If you are interested in applying as well, head on over to the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge design team call information page linked here.

Without further ado....here are a few of my favorite layouts that I have created recently. Enjoy the layout share!!

Use Your Stuff Challenge: Incorporate a Quote

Good Morning! I am off today exploring Disney World on spring break with my kiddos and capturing lots of new memories to create with when I get home. This week, the challenge on the Use Your Stuff blog is to create a project that incorporates or takes inspiration from a quote. There are so many different directions that you could go with this challenge and I struggled to choose just one quote to use. I am sure that this is a challenge that I will come back to again and again.

For this week, I chose to work on a layout from a recent vacation to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. My kids were so excited to go to Ollivander's and choose a wand and then use it throughout the world to cast spells and make magical mischief. Thus, the quote "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" was just perfect. Using the quote as a bold title, I incorporated different colors, text styles and dimensions in order to create visual interest. Surrounding the picture with strong layers and three defined embellishment clusters allowed for me to draw the viewer's eye to the photo and the quote. I tried my hand at brush lettering for the very first time on this layout. And these studio calico letter stickers...to die for! I hope you enjoy this layout and find something that inspires you to create. Make sure to head on over to the Use Your Stuff blog to check out the work from the rest of the design team and to submit your own project to the challenge this week.

Process Video: Cuteness

Good afternoon and hi everybody!
I finally have my second process video up and ready for everyone. I have been super busy packing for a spring break vacation with my kiddos and the extra time in the day has been limited. This layout is based upon one of the sketches for the Ready, Sketch, Go class and I really love a good grid layout for creating a quick and highly appealing visual look. I hope that you will check out my You Tube process video for this layout and like and subscribe if you enjoy what you see and want to see more creative works coming your way!

**Just a note: that white paper with the tiny hearts actually has gold foil hearts. They are just showing up black in the photo. That paper as well as the 3x4 cards are from the February Studio Calico kit. Enjoy and have a great crafty day!!

Use Your Stuff Challenge: Flowers and More Flowers

Good morning!
This week the challenge on the Use Your Stuff blog was to use flowers and more flowers. Now this was definitely a challenge for me. I tend to collect beautiful flowers and then they sit in my stash and never make it on to layouts. So, this week I really wanted to give it a shot. I pulled out my new My Mind's Eye On Trend 2 collection and used by Cameo to cut out a black scribble circle that would highlight my photo on the page. I hope you enjoy my use of flowers and more flowers this week and I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge. Make sure to visit the Use Your Stuff blog to check out the work from the rest of the design team and to submit a project of your own using flowers!

Use Your Stuff Challenge: Ribbon, Twine, Lace

Good morning!
I am super excited to announce that I have been invited to join the design team for the Use Your Stuff blog! The first challenge this week was to use ribbon, twine, or lace in a project. I decided to create a bold border treatment by creating loops of different ribbons and just attaching them with my tiny attacher. Of course, I had to create lots of layer behind my photo and then added some ribbon on the photo mat/journaling box in order to tie the entire layout together. I hope your enjoy my take on ribbon on a layout and can't wait to see what you create for this challenge. Make sure to visit the Use Your Stuff blog to submit a project for this week's challenge!
