Process Video: Collect Beautiful Moments
Good morning and Happy Friday!! I am up on my You Tube Channel today with a new process video for Themis layout. This layout is very close to my heart as a talks about my prized possessions. This layout was for the layout of the day prompt which really push me to make sure that I told the story behind these two objects and why they mean so much to me. I hope this will inspire you to create a layout about a possession or something within your home that is very important to you and has a story that should be recorded and shared!

Can you believe it? CRAFT Challenge is already 7 years old. Originally started by Tracy from Just Tracy Crafts and with a DT mostly recruited from Trimcraft forum members (Hence the term CRAFT Challenge, which stood for Crafters Residing Are Friendly Trimmies. Or if you wished alternative meaning of Can't Remember A Flipping Thing) on the 4th of May 2009.
We have now grown to be a large team of Design Team Members from all around the world, supplemented with lots of Guest Designers who join us for a month at a time.
We have always welcomed all kinds of craft, not just paper craft (unless specifically stated so in the challenge at the time) and are happy to have such a large group of faithful followers.
So, how are we going to celebrate this milestone?

Process Video: Enjoy Each Day
Good morning! I just want to give a huge shout-out and thank you to all of my new subscribers on my You Tube channel. Just last week I was pinching myself and feeling so grateful to have 100 people subscribed and everyone has blown me away by growing it to nearly 200 since then. I am just amazed and more motivated and inspired than ever to continue sharing, create more videos, and find unique ways to give you all even more inspiration. The Day After INSD....Tips to Keep the Momentum Going
Hi everybody and Happy Monday! If you have been living under a rock or perhaps in space, underwater, or in the middle of nowhere, this past weekend was International Scrapbooking Day (Weekend!) My head is still spinning from the challenges, process videos, discussions, and contests that could be found everywhere. The problem I see with that is that it is really great for a weekend and now, today, we have the day after hangover so to speak. We got inundated with creativity and amazing work for three straight days and now....back to business as usual. Which is great but wouldn't it be wonderful to keep that momentum going? Wouldn't it be great to stay in that creative mindset even though the event is over? So...I put together five tips for maintaining the momentum using the resources we gained this past weekend.
1. Use the Challenges. Just because the deadlines are over and the prizes awarded doesn't mean that those challenges aren't amazing places to start. Choose a few of those challenges that you really enjoyed or that really inspired you and do them again. Even add a new twist or combine two together. Not for a prize but to create an amazing product.
2. Go Back to the Boards. Many of those challenges were posted on Facebook which meant that everyone who wanted to participate had to attach their layout submission to that topic post. Glancing through today, I noticed that there were over 20-30 submissions for each challenge. Now that is what I call inspiration waiting to happen! Go back to those posts and browse all of the amazing work that was submitted. Scraplift...can inspiration...and keep your creativity in top condition!
3. Maintain Communication. How many connections did you make with people over the past weekend? There were numerous opportunities to network, do Google Hangouts, interact with live streaming, and Skype. Keep those connections open and plan more! Just because the weekend is over doesn't mean you can't reach out to some of those people and suggest more meet-ups, hangouts, or discussions. There are many, many people out there who don't have scrappy friends nearby that are always looking for people to chat with, bounce ideas off of, and build new friendships with!
4. Just Keep Swimming. It sounds obvious but don't pack up your supplies thinking "well, another scrapbooking day come and gone" or "all cleaned up until the first weekend of May next year." Right now, you might feel tired and drained but you are also in a great place to keep working and creating. You have seen new things, tried new ideas, and experimented with products you might not have used before. Don't just pack up and consider it done....keep playing with those ideas! Keep creating!!
5. Explore New Inspiration. You might even be feeling like you used up your entire year's worth of creativity this weekend and have nothing left! Never fear, there is constantly new inspiration out there. Treat yourself to a purchase to replace all of those supplies that you used up this weekend or put together a new stash kit that you are excited to use. Visit some new You Tube channels (you can find me here) or Instagram accounts for the new artists you learned about this weekend.

Use Your Stuff Challenge: Texture Paste
Happy Monday! Welcome to another week and another challenge over at the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog. This week, we are challenging you to use texture paste in your projects! Texture paste is a really fun and easy way to add dimension and color to your layouts. It plays really nicely with all sorts of mixed media like watercolors, mists, and paints. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Paper Piecing
Happy Thursday! This week, the new challenge on the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog is paper piecing. This was a really fun challenge using a technique that I haven't used in quite awhile. Paper piecing used to be so popular and it seems with die cutting machines and electronic cutting systems, that it kind of got lost along the way. I, however, really enjoyed taking a look back at this old technique and making it new again. I hope that you will join me and create a new project using paper piecing. Visit the C.R.A.F.T. Use Your Stuff Challenge: Sketch
Happy Monday! This week on the Use Your Stuff Blog the challenge involved using a predesigned sketch to create your project. I had a little of a challenge with this layout based upon the placement of the three photos but once I had found the right combination of pictures, the rest of the layout came together pretty quickly.
I chose to use Vellum for the layers underneath the title as there was already a lot going on in this layout. This is an easy technique to add some layers and dimension in a subtle way and allow the rest of the colors in the layout to stand on their own. Tissue paper layers would create the same effect! I also created by own epoxy dimensional stickers for both the sun and the lifeguard symbol on the bottom using stickers, cut-aparts, and clear epoxy toppers. This is another excellent (and easy!) strategy for when you don't necessarily have the embellishments that you are looking for.
