Layout Share
Welcome Back! I am here today with another layout share that I created for the Ready, Sketch, Go Class that is being hosted by Jen Schow and Tracie Claiborne. Please see the previous post if you are interested in learning more about this class and how amazing I think that it is so far. The layout below as one that I created for my son's scrapbook to document the first time that the kids got to play in the hot tub for the season. The first time of anything really is always something that I try to make sure I document for my kids as these traditions are an important part of their childhood stories.
Layout: Awesome!
I have been really spending a lot of time paying attention to how I layer my photo layers together in order to create dimension and add interest to the page. The hint of reddish orange in the ball on the left side picture was my inspiration for drawing in that brighter orange paper on the left photo matt and it created a nice balance that brought your eye back to the center of the layout. Adding some additional orange accents in the embellishment clusters also worked to create a visual triangle around the pictures making them the focus! Here are some close-up shots of my details and embellishment clusters.
For the majority of the elements on this page, I used an older Kelly Purkey collection called Mon Ami which was put out by Basic Grey in 2013. I cut the title using my Cameo with one of the cut files from the Ready, Sketch, Go class I am currently taking. The phrase strips are from Simple Stories that I just purchased at Michaels and the chipboard stars came from an old Amy Tangerine thicker set that I found at Tuesday Morning.
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below! Have a happy scrappy day!

Ready, Sketch, Go Class
I have been away for a few weeks planning, prepping, and surviving a major Nerf War party for my youngest son and have been itching like crazy to get back to my scrappy ways. It is amazing how any little break from this creative process really has me itching for some time in my craft room. Last week, I took a big jump and joined my first online scrapbooking class: Ready, Sketch, Go which is a collaboration between Jen Schow and Tracie Claiborne. I have never taken an online class before but these ladies are so inspirational and the value seemed too good to pass up. Let me just say that I am SO grateful that I did. The content is incredible, the process videos are packed with amazing tips, and the extras like cut files and scrapping tips are just over the top. They have truly done an amazing job making sure all the little details are in order. So far, I have finished the first two sketch challenges and wanted to post my first layout here and talk a little bit about what I did. If you are interested and looking for amazing inspiration at an incredible value, check out their new class by clicking here. You won't be disappointed!
Layout #1: Stargazer.
This layout had been a struggle for me for quite some time. The pictures aren't wonderful because they were outside at night but the story was so important to my son so it required documentation. As you can see from the layout, I had a lot to say in this story so I needed a fair chunk of journaling space. Below are some close-ups of the embellishment clusters as well as some of the layers that I created.
Supplies Used:
Shimelle Starshine: Metal Clip, die cut from the ephemera pack, clear stamp set, stars border strip
Amy Tan Better Together: quote die cut from the ephemera pack, mini star diecuts
Studio Calico: Gold alpha stickers, background paper
Heidi Swapp September Skies: gold foil constellations card and 6x6 paper pad
Heidi Swapp: Navy ink pad, roller date stamp
Other: enamel dots, white cardstock
I hope you enjoyed my first class layout! More coming soon.....

First YouTube Video 2.6.2016
I took the leap this afternoon and filmed by first YouTube video. Of course, I learned a boatload of lessons so here goes...
1.) Lighting is terrible and strange little lights or shadows appear the moment the camera starts rolling.
2.) It is quite awkward talking to yourself at first and then gets easier as you go.
3.) My equipment setup isn't pretty but it is functional and it worked...YAY!
4.) Uploading to YouTube truly does take forever and a day.
5.) I am full of anxiety and self-doubt but also can't wait to start filming more...
I hope that you will take a look. I apologize its SO long but I wanted to start with a haul video as a jumping off point for layout sharing. Please leave me some feedback, give it a thumbs up if you liked it, and subscribe if you wanna see more of my adventure....I promise it will get better :)
